Generations don't always join the table. Sometimes they meet in unlikely places, where homesickness reminds them of home and family. For those who lived in – and from – the stone, the stories seem to have no end, and one succeeds the other, told as if difficult times were simple.

Perhaps we will never learn half of what our parents and grandparents have to teach, but we know how to listen to them with the same passion with which they talk about something that is common to us.

This Christmas, knowledge is our best inheritance.
